2020 Capital District Leadership Training

Breakfast tacos, pastries, and drinks will be served (no lunch this year).
Leadership training will include fellowship, officer training break-out sessions, and a presentation from The Refuge, an area center for young women who have been sex trafficked. An offering for The Refuge will be collected.

Remember to bring your gifts for the mission project (Good Neighbor Settlement House) and your items for the Silent Auction.
Our keynote speaker is Bishop Minerva Carcaño of the San Francisco area (California-Nevada Annual Conference). Bishop Carcaño is a native of Edinburg.

2017 Annual Meeting

Our annual meeting will be September 16, 2017. The expressed purpose is to adopt a budget for 2018. Additionally, we will have a study for at least one of the 2017 Mission Studies.
If you would like to bring a poster about something your unit is doing, we would love to see it.
All UMW members are invited. You do not have to be an officer. Come to learn and be part of the sisterhood.

The 2017 Legislative Event will be January 22-24. This event is presented by Texas Impact who has already worked with an interfaith team and established issues that we will hear about during training. Afterwards, UMW will choose 4 issues to specifically pursue during the session. We will also be trained about effective interactions with legislators and their staff. On the 24th, we will visit our specific state senator and representative. Go to http://umwriotexas.org to register.
